2 Cor 5:11-21 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

    Our Heavenly Home
    Posted by Matt Trombley
2 Cor 5:1-10 Our earthly home lasts a short time, our heavenly home will last forever. Our heavenly home is not made with hands. Our heavenly home is much better than our earthly home. Our earthly home is lacking, our heavenly home is complete. Our heavenly home is guaranteed by the Holy Spirit living in us now. We are encouraged to live now by faith not by sight, but when we are home with the Lord we will see clearly. Our goal now and forever is always to please God with our body. We will be judged by Jesus for our works. Not a judgment that keeps us from our heavenly home. A judgment that reveals our reward (1 Cor 3).

    Treasure in Jars of Clay

2 Cor 4:7-18 The treasure is the gospel. Our bodies are jars of clay. God put his treasure in us to share with others. Even though we suffer, this light momentary affliction is preparing us for the eternal weight of glory.

2 Corinthians 4:1-6 The gospel is simple, let's keep it simple. The god of this world keeps unbelievers in darkness. But God said, "Let there be light." The light of the gospel opens eyes to the truth.

    The New Covenant

2 Corinthians 3:1-18 A pastor’s letter of commendation is written on the hearts of the people he shepherds. God changes lives through our humble faithfulness. The Old Covenant of works was a conditional promise with fading glory. The New Covenant of grace is an unconditional promise with surpassing glory. Glory is the manifestation of God’s holiness. The Holy Spirit gives us freedom to enter God’s presence.

    Forgiving One Another

2 Corinthians 2:5-11; Matt 18:15-20; 2 Cor 1:3-4; John 10:10; 1 Cor 5:3-4; Matt 6:12,14,15; Luke 17:3-4; Mark 11:25; Eph 4:32; Col 3:13 Forgiveness is both sending away the sin and giving grace to the sinner. Not willing to forgive, holding a grudge, staying bitter is Satan’s plan for you. If God forgives you of every sin, then you should forgive one another of every sin. If God’s forgiveness is unlimited, then you can’t put a limit on yours. Forgiving one another is a witness to God’s mercy. You may be the only Bible some people ever read.
